Health & Safety Policy


General Policy

Fugro Roadware (Fugro) is committed to providing a healthy and safe workplace for all people in each work location and to protect the environment in accordance with applicable laws, best practices and our Health and Safety Policy. Our commitment is based on the conviction that accidents are preventable. We believe being driven by "caring for people's safety" is a key element to being a world leader in the infrastructure and pavement management industry. Fugro is committed to maintaining an environment in which all people treat each other with respect.


To implement a Health and Safety Policy throughout Fugro that is committed to continual improvement and engages all staff to proactively identify Health and Safety risks arising from our activities to reduce them as low as is practicable. "Any act of violence or harassment committed by or against any individuals within this organization is unacceptable conduct and will not be tolerated."

Key Strategies

We will succeed in achieving our objective by developing and implementing the following strategies:

  • Effective safety standards, safe work practices and implementing best practice safety technologies 
  • Effective safety reporting and communications programs that seek out staff feedback including improvement opportunities 
  • Robust programs that encourage all levels of staff to take proactive approach towards creating safe working environments for all stakeholders
  • Being accountable for promoting continued safety education and training for all employees 
  • Assigning responsibility for all aspects of our Health and Safety Policy
  • Establishing a framework for setting and achieving annual Health and Safety goals and objectives supported by continuously reviewing potential areas for improvement of Health and Safety performance.
  • Empowering any employee to suspend work at any time until work can proceed without compromising the Health and Safety of any person affected by our activities
  • Ensuring the reporting and thorough evaluation of all accidents, incidents and hazards by implementing a "fair and just culture" for those who report unplanned events.
  • All incidents involving violence, harassment or abusive behaviour will be reported and investigated in accordance with the requirements of our HSE Management System.
